does asthma hurt

why does it hurt when i breath sometimes?
really randomly my rib cage will hurt, and the pain gets so bad that i cant breath. i read on the internet that it might be symptoms of asthma. can it? and should i go to the doctor??
ok well no i dnt smoke, im 14, im only 92lbs. 5′0. i very active; i run, dance and play alot of sports.
With the amount of information you gave, not even a doctor could answer that. What other symptoms do you have? Whats your age? weight? diet? habits? Do you drink? Smoke? you get the picture?
